Hello Everyone,
I hope you all are having a good week so far. This term has flew by. To two exercises I thought have been more beneficial to me are visualization and meditation. Although, all of them I really liked, I can always see myself doing the visualization or meditation at times when I need it. I think as long as I practice these exercises in times of need, or just incorporate them into my daily routine, I will have my mental fitness. One thing I did try was visualization at work during my break. It was really nice taking my mind to a happy place and for about 5 minutes, I thought I was somewhere else. After that, I felt refreshed and it really made it easier to get through my day. Another example I think would be beneficial for me is doing meditation before work. I know people that do this, and it makes them more alive. You can really tell the difference between the people that do these exercises before they come to work or even get a work out in, than the people that don't. The people that don't look very tired and they just look like they are dragging through half of the day.

Unit 7 Blog
Hello All,
I hope everyone is doing well this week. I completed the meditation exercise on track 4. I felt this to be very beneficial and of course very relaxing. For the exercise, we had to visualize someone, dead or alive, male or female that we love, honor and share a special connection with and observe them in our mind. I chose to visualize about my mother. It then asked us to reflect on this person, their love, joy and compassion towards things. Doing this exercise, I felt myself becoming more positive. I did this at work during break, because I wanted to see if it would help be relieve some of my work stress and negativity and it did. I think that mindfulness or meditation has fostered an increase in my psychological or spiritual wellness because every time I’m stressed, I tend to listen to these tracks and it always seems to get me past the issue. I can continue to apply these practices in my daily life for greater health and wellness by observing myself more and when I’m having an issue, correct it before it gets too far.
The saying “one cannot lead another where one has not gone himself,” means a lot to me. For someone working in the field, especially one in the health and wellness field, I don’t think its right for someone to talk and counsel people on eating right and exercise when they don’t eat right or exercise themselves. I know it happens out there, but I just don’t believe its right. That’s one of the many reasons I had to change my lifestyle. I can’t see myself speaking about nutrition and I don’t watch what I eat. It’s like the saying, practice what you preach. I would feel very obligated to my clients to be developing my health physically, mentally and spiritually. I would want them to see me as fit, healthy and stable so they can look up to me or use me as their motivation. I can implement psychological and spiritual grown in my personal life by using meditation and prayer. These are the two things that have really worked for me.

Loving Kindness Meditation and Integral Assessement
Hello All,
Hope you are having a good week so far.
I completed the loving kindness meditation exercise and found it to be beneficial in a way. Repeating those phrases for 10 minutes, made it easier to remember loving kindness, even in stressful situations. I think if someone is in a situation either a stress situation or an angry one, they can benefit from this exercise. I think it can help someone forgive in a way, because the words are referring to everyone and not just a specific person. The thing I didn't like about the exercise is that it was repetitive. Like I said, it probably would be beneficial for someone in a certain situation, but for someone that isn't going through anything, it can be kind of boring for them.
I really liked the Integral Assessment. This assessment makes you think about all the aspects in my life that needs attention. I liked this idea because sometimes I only focus on one or two things and not all of them. It also gives motivation to focus on these things and to change to improve my health, happiness and wholeness. This exercise allows you to think deep down in your mind and pick all the things that needs to be addressed. We don't always think about this, so its good to sit down and list all of these things so it can be addressed rather than have them not even being worked on at all.
I didn't really discover anything new about myself. I usually always think about what I need to work on. That doesn't mean they always get worked on, but I am aware. The areas I chose focus on growth and development is communication in my relationship and managing my time better so I can work out everyday. I chose these because they are weak and needs major improvement. There are many things I can do to help in these areas. I know I need to talk an argument out instead of yelling at the time. I also need to write out a schedule to plan my day out so I can fit my work out time in my daily activities.

Week 5 Blog post
Hello Everyone,
I liked both of the exercises, the loving-kindness and the subtle mind practice. I think they both can be beneficial to a person, but I think that depends on the person. I think the difference between the two exercises is that loving-kindness helps a person focus on the people in their life, the negative and positive events that they are going through. With the subtle mind practice, it has people focus more on the mind, and training the mind while going through the 3 levels of the subtle mind. I thought the exercise went really well for me. I didn't experience any frustrations except that my disk only work for the first 5 minutes and then it was all static so I had to open the track from doc sharing. Other than than, it was very relaxing to me.
There is a big connection between spiritual wellness, mental wellness and physical wellness. All of these things are tied together, so its important to keep all of these healthy. In order to keep the "whole" person healthy, a persons spiritual wellness, mental wellness and physical wellness needs to be healthy as well. This connection has manifested in my life because when i'm stressed, its hard for me to concentrate and I have no energy to do anything, so it affects my physical wellness as well.
